Wave 2 is the second phase of the project originally known as the Direct Sunshine Coast (DSC) Rail Line Project. The overall program has been structured into three phases to progressively deliver a 37.8 kilometre dual‑track rail line between Beerwah and Maroochydore. Wave 2 focuses on the combined civil and rail line works between Caloundra and Birtinya and is a key component in improving public transport connectivity to support growth across the Sunshine Coast region.

Bellgrove Advisory provided independent whole‑of‑project assurance services for Wave 2. Our role included undertaking a comprehensive assurance review across technical, cost, program, commercial and transaction approach, risk and governance. Bellgrove Advisory provided advice on the project’s readiness and potential to be successfully delivered in line with Brisbane 2032 Summar and Paralympic games program delivery plans and identified key risks to procurement and delivery outcomes together with potential mitigation strategies for consideration by the project team.
